Margaret African Market is an international food retailer based in Kitchener, Ontario, founded and owned by Ebube Onyefuru.

We officially launched on July 2, 2025, with a vision to make international foods more accessible, convenient, and affordable for Canadians.

What started with a focus on African groceries is growing into something much bigger. Our goal is to become the largest international food retailer in Canada, offering a wide selection of products from Africa, the Caribbean, Asia, Latin America, and communities around the world — all while keeping our prices affordable and providing great value to our customers.

We believe Canadians should be able to find the foods they grew up with, discover new flavours, and shop for international products without having to travel across the city or pay excessive prices.

Our stores are being built around that idea: selection, affordability, convenience, and accessibility.
