We are a growing African & Caribbean grocery store focused on delivering quality products, strong customer service, and an excellent shopping experience to our community. We are looking for a highly organized and results-driven Operations Manager to help strengthen store operations, improve profitability, and lead our team effectively.
The Grocery Store Operations Manager will oversee the daily operations of the store, including staff supervision, inventory management, cash handling, customer service, and operational efficiency. This role is ideal for someone with strong retail leadership experience who understands how to manage both people and business performance.
We are looking for someone who is proactive, accountable, financially disciplined, and experienced in improving store operations.
Manage daily store operations and ensure smooth workflow
Supervise, schedule, and support store employees
Monitor inventory levels and oversee product ordering
Reduce inventory shrinkage, waste, and operational losses
Ensure proper product rotation and stock organization
Handle cash management, POS reconciliation, and daily reporting
Monitor store profitability, expenses, and operational performance
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and customer service
Address customer concerns and resolve operational issues quickly
Work closely with ownership to improve systems, efficiency, and overall business performance
Assist in developing strategies to increase sales and improve customer retention
Previous experience managing a grocery store, supermarket, retail store, or similar operation
Strong understanding of inventory management and retail operations
Experience with staff supervision and scheduling
Comfortable using POS systems, Excel, and operational reporting tools
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment
Financial awareness and ability to manage operational costs effectively
Experience with African, Caribbean, or international grocery products is an asset
Strong accountability and attention to detail
Excellent organizational and leadership skills
Ability to identify operational problems and implement solutions
